Seat apholstery

My question is actually about an airplane seat,that I just unupholstered. We have done several now and I was wondering if there was an easier way to remove the staples that connect the wire spring in the back to the fabric. The nail like, staples cross over in the back so you really cant just pluck them out with the upholstery staple puller. You also cant get to the back side to unsqueeze the cross over. I have been using a screwdriver or butter knife twisting and turning. thank you t
