This is a great book that takes place in NYC during and after WWII.

It is a true story of a woman that shares an apartment with two females and fights a devil that is trying to control her. She seeks therapist after therapist, while having relationships with violent men.

It is the author's personal journey for self knowledge.

I read it while in high school, don't want to date myself, but the book is pretty old and might be harder to find.

Thanks ! I have this book which I found amidst many old ones and was wondering who is this devil that she is trying to avoid. Is this a story of submission and domination ??? I don't mind saying I am 70 years old now because I don't look too bad for my age. LOL I started to read this book I believe in the 60s and just could not get into it so I filed it away until now. So I see you say it's great. OK. Will read now !
