Verizon Yahoo FIOS Email, downloads do not happen.

Just recently installed FIOS from Verizon. When I receive Email with attachments and want to open the attachemt, system goes through up asking if I want to open the attachemt...that is where the systems stalls and the screen shows the small window with the paper flying accross to a folder...and that will go on until I X out of the window. Please help me fixing this problem. Thanks, Jim H.
