Host and plan the bridal shower. Help out during the rehearsal dinner. Assist the bride while shopping for a gown, and help her get dressed prior to the wedding. Ensure the reception room is up to standards prior to the wedding. Be a witness while signing the marriage license. Hold the grooms ring during the service. Basically, you need to be her 'right hand.' If you have financial difficulties planning the shower, speak to the other attendants on how you can cut down costs, such as having the shower at a friends house in lieu of a reception hall, etc.
