One of the oldest symbols of the Jewish faith is the menorah, a seven-branched candelabrum.

For Hanukkah, a menorah has 8 holders for the eight days of the festival and one holder in the middle or on the side for the lighting candle. Sabbath ( "Shabbat ") candle holders may look like regular candlesticks. There are some nice pictures on this site.
