What is the best way to re-stuff down and feathers into a new pillow liner?

My mother's 33-year-old sofa has been "molting". As it turns out many of the feather-proof pillow liners are in shreds. For the first pillow, I got the feathers into a box and made new a liner, but it is a comedy of errors trying to get the feathers back into a contained liner. I have ten cushions to do and I could use some good advice for the re-stuffing process.

The sofa itself is in remarkably good condition, as Mom never let us kids sit on it!

I used used the work "pillow," but cushion may be a more accurate term. There are five bottom cushions and five back cushions (3 sets for a sofa, and two sets for a loveseat). I have not unzipped the upholstery and inspected every cushion, but figure even if all haven't split open, it is only a matter of time until they do.

Take them in the bathroom and stuff them over the bathtub then u wont have a big mess to clean up.make sure u plug up the tub so as to not stop up the drain, then u can vacuum the bathroom when u are done.

The bathroom/bathtub was a great solution! Thank you so much! It is a good idea to wear a face mask so as not to inhale feathers.
