When does it cross the borderline of Copyright Infringement while your making a website?

I don't fully understand this copyright thing. I am in the process of making a website and i want to put up pictures and all kinds of graphics, info etc to draw traffic to companies. But i don't know what would put me over the border of copyright infringement. I would never take ownership for someone elses property unless i had permission, but i don't feel that im taking ownership of it, i'm just putting up information so that people can learn and be drawn to learn more about it.

So, can i put whatever i want to up, but as long as i don't modify it or take ownership for it, am i ok? Pictures, video, etc. If i am just advertising it and trying to expose it to the world? Kind of like an affiliate? I'm trying to gather information together so people can learn about it from a more complete source but i'm not taking ownership for it.

Like if i were to display a page of a product so people could analyze it, its not like i'm putting <my name> on the bottom of it....or calling it <my names> such and such product, published by <my name>. Or recieving full payments for it, nah, just showing it, giving info of it and then directing people to the companies that made it or originated it so they can gain business. Thank you for reading, and i hope for some good answers. I'm trying to be an affiliate so please let me know what i need to watch out for, thank you.
