Will we receive a stimulus check in 2009?

I have been told by many people that we may recieve a second stimulus check in early 2009. Of course I'm curious and praying that we do.

Yes it is a speculation. It is something President elect Obama has talked about. but until he is officially the president we won't know for sure.

Stay tuned!

Obama and the Democratic party told us how we were going to get a bigger stimulus than last year, we as the lowly tax payer aren't going to get very little, $1000 for married couples, $500 single....that comes down to $ 20 a week, and $10 week.....boy that ought to save us...while the bigges are getting BILLIONS, thats Billions! and don't have to tell us where, if any where they are putting it back into the economy.....so as usual, we as tax payers, are getting screwed!

At this point it is unclear if we will receive a check in 2009. It has been discussed but until Obama and the new Congress take office it is to be determined. Stand by!

It would sure help a lot of people in these hard times. There are so many layoffs, once the checks are issued and spent what is going to happen to the people that do not have jobs. These checks will not help create jobs.

I hope this happens, I am sure everyone can use the money, but once the checks are spent this is not going to help create jobs for the ones that haven't got one.

I think that the government should split up the 175 billion in proposed bailouts for the big companies and give an equal share to all the voting citizens of this country so we can afford to pay our bills and in turn keep the big companies in business. This would seem to make the most sense rather than give these big companies monies so the rich can keep on getting richer and nothing trickles down to us bottom feeders. Just imagine how well off we as tax payers would be then. We could all get debt free and demand a restructure at that point when no one is in peril. It isnt just the rediculous interest rates that are breaking the average citizen. It's all those fees associated with any type of loan. The government does not regulate fees so call it what you want but creditors max out the regulated interested rates and tack on a shit load of fees so they can rake in record profits. People have to take a stand and stop doing business with these economic rapists and then maybe we can all breathe a little easier and sleep ay night. Thanks for your time.

I think that the government should have given us, as taxpayers, the huge bailout money that was given to Wall Street and the banks. Think about it, if they had given us all that money, I for one, would have paid off my morgage..housing crisis avoided, I would have bought a new car..auto makers are secured, I would have paid my bills, and spent money making the economy strong again! It's our money they are spending anyway...let us decide where to spend it, I'll give a detailed graph of every dime spent and where it went......STUPID again is synonomis with government!

America in major debt yet the govt giving out more money causing more debt? Instead of the bailout why not let the govt start new businesses and hire the unemployed? Then they know where the bailoutmoney went and less epople out of work means more to the economy. Also stimulus checks will make people happy till time comes when we have to pay it back ie taxes will have to be raised to cover US debt. And blaming Bush alone? Lets be real here what about the others before him and lets not overlook our new president already wanting to start new wars and giving more money away to drown our country farther. Rumors are spread about him being the end of our world? so far not looking good. Race has nothing to do with it either could care less what race or party he is part of. His start is not looking to be the change we need.
