Using Copyrighted Band/Marching Music for TV/Web

We are talking with a prospect about broadcasting from tape a batton twirling competition on TV and Webcasting it.

These performers use music which they typically bring with.

There are no plans at this point of selling DVD's of the Show.

What organization(s) would the Client need to talk with?

Thanks,
Dave

The performers would need to contact the record companies. However I don't think record companies really mind the free publicity provided by events like this. I wouldn't worry about it.

Your best bet would be to contact the record company and get written permission just to cover your tail end just in case.
