I need help to stop foot shewing.

A month ago, African grey parrot, Pearl, hung her toes up in her rope toy while I was at work. She chewed the nail off of 3 toes and the 1st joint off of 2 toes. Her second collar has not stopped her from reaching her middle toe. She almost does the splits to be able to reach that toe. Can I use a product called "Bitter Lime" on her foot? I have used it on my dogs and horses on injuries with god results but I don't know about a parrot. Help, please.
