Could be from food alergies as he sometimes eats human food. Are there any types of antibiotics that may help ?

Yes, it could very well be alergies caused by food, a parasite, or even some other enviormental issue (we see more and more dogs alergic to there plastic food dishes), and it could be a good case of dry skin. Antibiotics will not help this situation. For now I would start with giving the dog a hypo allergenic food such as one of the recipies listed on this site http://www.thelittlefoxes.net/ feed him from a stainless steel bowl, and bath him with an anti itch shampoo that contains tea tree oil, use a topical tea tree oil spray inbetween, both of these products can be obtained at your local pet store. If things don't get better in a few days, you need to see your vet.
