No licorice is not good for dogs. If you feel like giving your dog a treat try a milk bone, or puperoni which looks like a beef jerky stick but its forumlated for dogs.

Actually licorice root is a homeopathic treatment in animals for respiratory and digestion problems. As far as the candy is concerned, no, it probably won't harm your dog. At best it would probably give him a little diarrhea. I wouldn't recommend it as a regular treat, however. Dogs respond better to foods they are created to eat, not human junk food.
