I want to breed my chawawa and need to know when I know it's time?

I have a beautiful 25 week old female chawawa named Sugar. We have some friends who have a perfect mate for her. There dog is a hairless chawawa. They play together all the time and just love each other. I know it's not time yet to breed. But I just want to know what I'm doing when it's time. I only want to breed her one time then we'll have her fixed. I'm 95% sure that's the plan anyway. I would just like to know the steps of this process so I do every thing the correct way and my baby is safe.

You want to keep your baby safe? SPAY HER when she's 6 months so she doesn't get CANCER when she's older from having those puppies!

People like you shouldn't breed dogs because you think they're cute and want to get money for them. YOU are called a "backyard breeder" for a reason. You breed b/c all you care about is getting puppies and selling them. YOUR BITCH (the female dog... get used to it b/c that's what she is.. duh) HAVING PUPPIES DOES NOTHING FOR HER! SHE DOESN'T BECOME A BETTER DOG AND IT'S LIKELY YOU'LL KILL HER IN THE PROCESS OF BIRTHING BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. If she doesn't die giving birth she'll likely die b/c of how poorly you care for her later on. Or CANCER b/c YOU MADE HER have puppies. You KNEW there was potential of her getting a disease and dying slowly and YOU STILL MADE HER DO IT.

JUST BECAUSE your friend has the "perfect mate" for her DOESN'T MEAN SQUAT! Why is he so special? Does he have an amazing bloodline? How old is he? Does he have allergies? Just because he is cute and gets along with her doesn't mean anything but they are good friends. Where is your girl from? Did you meet her parents? How did they act to you? Protective? Or Welcoming? Are they still alive now? Do you even keep in touch with the owners of her parents? I'm guessing you bought them off of the local newspaper or Craigslist.

There is a reason I am upset with your decision. I'm sorry if you don't like what I have to say, but I am speaking for the rest of the population of people who know their s**t about animals and most of them are too polite to say anything at all. But hun, if nothing is said to you about the warnings of this and your lack of knowledge about the breed (see below for starters), YOU ARE GOING TO KILL YOUR DOG AND THOSE PUPPIES IF THEY EVEN MAKE IT TO THE ADOPTABLE AGE (10 weeks btw). I'm stressing this for REASONS. Because so many people out there feel the EXACT SAME WAY YOU DO walking into this not knowing anything wanting to breed for the wrong reasons.

There are three types of breeders:

Reputable breeders - the ones who know their stuff and breed for HEALTH, QUALITY, and TEMPERAMENT. They breed for BETTERING THE BREED.

Backyard Breeders - Those like you who do it for money, because they think it will be a "good experience" for either the dog or themselves, AND/OR because they want the "joy" of having puppies around and "profit of selling is just extra". These people breed in their houses or have sheds they keep the dogs in and then when adoption time comes they advertise saying those puppies were "family raised" and "raised with children" and "raised in the home" when they weren't.

Puppy Mill breeders - If you don't know what a puppy mill is google it and look at those photos. Go to youtube, peta, and Oprah.com and search it to watch her specials about what goes on there.

Which one are you?

I would add more, but I think you have enough to think about now. It's not all fun and games. It's real work raising dogs and if you TRULY LOVE YOUR DOG, SPAY HER TO SAVE HER.

*********** YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPELL THE BREED CORRECTLY *************

THINK ABOUT THAT :-|

First and for most it's expensive. The mother dog needs to go for check-ups every couple of weeks and she needs to take vitamins. The puppies are a crazy time , but what if something goes wrong and she has to have a c-section. With a chihuahua it would be more likely for her to have problems because of her small size. Then you have to figure in if she'll take the pups. some mom's don't take to their pups and the pups have to be bottle fed . Do you have the time to bottle feed them every two hours? Also, are they pedigreed dogs or are you just breeding them because you want cute little pups? I'm not trying to be degrading or anything my mother did the same thing with her cocker spaniel last year and she had all those probelms it took up a lot of time and she spent about 1500 dollars She said she will never breed again

This is not the best answer for my question. You have no idea who I am. I never even considered selling the puppies. I never asked for someone like you to answer my question. I'm not even ready to breed my puppy yet. I did this so I could learn to do it the right way. You are a horrible person. You shouldn't even own dogs if this is how you treat people you don't even know. My dog is treated perfectly fine. She is part of my family. You should be reported. Get your facts strait before you go talking to some one like this. I know exactly what puppy mills are. I have donated money for the past 6 years. People like you make the basic pet owner as you would call it, act like they do. I have nothing to think about. All I have to think about is how I can keep my baby away from mean people like you. Are your dogs fixed? Do you breed pups? I raise my girl around 3 boys from ages 4 to 10 and they love her as much as she loves them. We have had her since she was 12 weeks old. Please do not respond to me. I guess i was stupid to think I could come on here and get and educated answer from an educated person. Thinks for reassuring what I already new what I wanted to do. Both dogs are from a great bloodline and the puppies will be adopted to good family for free. Because anyone would be lucky to have a baby of my girl. Especially the CANCER patients that My girl goes to see every month. What a horrible person you are.

Thank you Henry for your help. Dosen't take a horrible person to tell you the truth a nice way. I want to do this the right way and I will not even attempt this for at least 2 more years. I just wanted to get started with my studies on it now. I would never do anything to hurt sugar. She is more than just a pet to me and my family. Some people just don't know intelligent ways to express there selves.

Oh, and good family for free? It's likely they'll be going to a "family" who claim to be good to you and will show their homes and their kids to you and you'll believe them :)

Well, you should really read the warning on Craigslist about giving pets away for free. They have a warning for a reason. I highly advise you check it out so you don't end up giving those pups to some sicko who will use them as bait for another animal or even food to some snake. I know what you're thinking. You're thinking "People wouldn't do that. Things like that don't happen anymore." Well sorry hun, but it does. It happens everyday and every night. Hence the warnings about giving pets away for FREE to "good homes only."

You might not like my answers, but I speak from experience and enough knowledge to know my s**t to preach about it. Now, for you . . . how was it that you spelled Chihuahua? Chawawa wasn't it? THAT is where you need to think ;-)

Have a lovely day =D
