JRT shaking and hiding Not Normal for her... Please Help Me

My 1 year old JRT started acting strangely yesterday. She is shaking like she is cold or scared and keeps hiding when no one is paying attention to her. She is normally a very in your face dog, happy, running around, playing and loves to be the center of attention. I was worried something scared her but was home with her yesterday and nothing different happened. We had a couple of long walks and a car ride, not different than normal. Please help me!

Your buddy is ok. I have a Jack Russell that does the same thing. I was scared at first to it was like she was a vibrator . I have a family member that breeds an I talk to them an it's common for there breed to do that it comes from long lines of breeding .I wanted a second opinion so went to my vet they said same thing an offered Valium to try but I won't give that to my dog. They said it's only. A 50/50 that it would help but that regaurdless dog would be fine .So I felt better once I found out . Hope this helps

Fireworks scared my JRT very badly when he was a puppy and still over a year later he shakes and hides at loud noises. Do not acknowledge this behavior - if you do you are showing her it is ok to be scared. (difficult, I know, I want to hold him every time he is scared) Eventually, I read somewhere, they will grow out of this. Also, last week mine was afraid to go outside, when he did he crouched down, tail between legs and looked up.......still don't know what that fear was about but he seems to be over that one now. My boy is also a 'in your face' kind of dog and I sure hope he gets over this. I hate for a badass boy to have an uncontrollable fear! Good luck.
