Symptoms usually occur about a week after exposure to kennel cough. It starts out as a dry, hacking cough, and there may be retching and coughing up some white foamy material. There can also be nasal discharge and redness around the eyes. In the more severe cases, there is fever and loss of appetite. Untreated, it can develop into pneumonia, so see your vet if you think your dog is developing kennel cough.
