I have heard that if it safe for you and your kids, its sfae for a dog and cat. But dont take it as fact. Please go to this site and read what they say about them and when in doubt call your vet first before giving it to your dog

Antibiotics like Amoxicillin, Cephalexin, Ciprofloxacin, Clavamox, Otomax, Penicillin and Tetracycline treat both humans and animals

Reasons to Avoid Using Human Antibiotics:

Simply treating what you feel an infection with your leftover antibiotics is wrong. The dog may be sicker than you think. What appears to be a simple urinary tract infection might actually be kidney disease.

After taking human antibiotics, dogs might appear to be cured, but you've only masked some symptoms making it harder for your veterinarian to properly diagnose the cause of the infection. By using your own antibiotics, you have jeopardized your pet's health.

Never use human antibiotics on your pet without showing the veterinarian the bottle and making sure it is okay. Only your vet will know what disease your dog has and what the treatment plan must entail

No prescription antibiotic that are meant for humans should be given to an animal. Although vets may use the same brand or type of antibiotic for your pet that your Dr may prescribe you, your body make up and most importantly your weight plays a big factor in the dosage prescribed. What is prescribed for you whether it be in pill form or liquid form may not be the correct dosage to give to your dog. If it were me, I would not take the chance.

Most human antibiotics can be used on dogs, buffered aspirin can be given for pain relief, tylenol and many other pain relief medications would be harmful to dogs and cats,if finances are a problem most vets will put you on a payment plan,if not you have to do with what you have, for all lifes problems just google it to get all the answers to life
