What is sticking out of my dogs butt?

I noticed that my dog has been scooting alot and didnt really think much of it. Today I noticed that he had what I thought was a piece of poop under his tail. Once I went to clean
it I realized that it was something hard sticking out. he started crying really loud and scratching at me. Could this be hemorrhoids? As long as I dont bother him around the tail area he seems ok just wont sit on his butt and is acting withdrawn.

Please help.

You need to take him to a vet. It could be part of his colon.

The butt scooting is typical when the dogs anal sacs don't drain properly. So it could be that or a more serious problem. it's best to get this checked out at the vet.

Take your dog to the vet. His anus may have prolapsed and that can lead to serious health issues.
