Go to a local pound or SPCA. I also know places like Petsmart and Petco usually have adoption programs.

Petfinder.com is where I found both of my dogs, one from a breeder and one from the Domestic Animal Shelter. Also adopted one from the Humane Society. Good luck and have fun!
