Yes, it is. If you have never done this you will want someone experienced such as a vet tech, breeder, or someone at your pet store to show you how this is done. You will need a few supplies including proper nail trimmers and styptic powder (to stop bleeding if needed) on hand, as well as a helper to hold your piggy.

Yes it is possible but take them to the vets instead! It is tough to do it correctly especially alone. If you take your guinea pig to a pet store(NOT RECOMMENDED) be sure to take your own tools and something to set the animal on and be sure the person doing it scrubs first. In our uninformed days we had one of ours get very sick after a trip to the pet store for nail care. Now we just go to the vets.
