Colorful Spider On my pool deck

I love spiders but recently became nervous about this beautful one because of the orange bowtie on it's abdomen. I looked into widow spiders and could not find it. I live in central florida facing a small lake, if that helps.

The spider is mostly orange and green, its front legs protrude outward.

You know that looks like a black widow , they have an orange imprinjt on there underside , and at this time of the year after winter months they are not really black , this looks like a young female ! hope this helps, here in ky we have a brown reclus spider, and black widows, and if a brown bits you , you will most time lose you leg or arm to a bite , i think they are more touble then the black widow, ive seen a lot of bits , and the brown takes the cake, any kind of bite , and it will start out small then its to late to save the body part.

This is not a black widow, the pic below is, notice the red "hour glass" shape, yours is orange. But it is a Brown Widow, and equal poisonous.

That's why florida freaks me out! I stayed in Sarastoa with my grandparents once and the bugs there can eat you!

Yes that looks like it. It has its front legs extended out a lot like in that image. Thanks so much.

Spiders in the family Tetragnathidae are commonly called long-jawed spiders, or longjawed orbweavers. The family Tetragnathidae is newly separated from the family Araneidae. Venusta Orchard Spiders or "Orchard Orbweaver" is quiet common in Florida and not poisonous.
