What is the coolest thing you know about pets or any animal?

Black Mambas are very agressive and can coil up to 3/4ths of their overall length enabling them to bite you in the neck should they so desire.

One thing I thought was amazing is that animals that live in prides or packs where there is one dominant male as is true in lions, pregnant females will ALL spontaneously abort if another male lion comes in and defeats the lion that is the current leader. Within 24 hours! Crazy!

I read 'The Hidden Life Of Dogs'. Way cool. What I learned is that basically dogs prefer to be with other dogs, not us. They realize that they do need us for food & shelter, but if it were up to them they'd rather just hang with each other.

Dogs are fascinating - I read this National Geographic article that said that dogs have way more chromosomes than we do and can therefore change SPECIES in 2-3 generations (obviously with a gene expert not Ma and Pop Puppy mill). Turn your labs into shitzus!

The coolest thing I have ever learned about animals is that a pray mantis is the natural enemy of the black widow spider. My boys captured them and I watched one morning the attack and let me tell you it was assume , one of the coolest things I have ever seen. The prey mantis did this assume dance mezmerizing the spider and than went in for the kill unbelievable I was awe struck. Way cool!@
