No, why would anyone invade us? We're too far from any "hostile countries". Further, we have a military, that while severely damaged at least in terms of the Army and Marines, that can still take out just about anyone immediately, save from maybe China and Russia. One carrier strike fleet contains more firepower than 95% of the world's armies. The kind of invasion that will continue to take place is foreign companies buying up more and more US companies and taking us over that way. The dollar is at an all time low and why not go that route vs. spending the material, time and risk being blown off the face of the map by a direct military invasion.

Mtnrescue is correct with most of his points. You might also consider the fact that our country is not worth invading for oil and gas reserves since compared to the rest of the oil-producing countries, we don't have that much. Since we sell most of our good food produce to foreigh countries anyway, there isn't any point in them invading the U.S. to get it. It's still cheaper for them to just buy it from us.

But the real reason no foreigh country would consider it wise to invade the U.S. is not because of our Army (as good as it is), but because of the vast majority of Americans who have their own weapons and would fight to the death to defend their homes and country. May people criticize our government for allowing citizens to own firearms, but when you think about it; would you really want to invade the U.S. and have to fight off 100 million armed Americans. Iraq has proven the principle that just a few armed civilians can pretty much bring a government to its knees. Do you think we would still be in Iraq if even 24% of its population was armed and they were all shooting at our soldiers?
