I live in Smith County, TX on Lake Pastline .

We have three bandon lots across the street from our lake house and Lakeway Harbour Home Owners refuses to enforce Home owners rules and the property is being used to house dogs. There is not running water, electric, and home on the property other thn a old metal building. Smith County has not been able to process with thier county law and the place is just getting out of hand. Do you have a state office that could look into the prolbem and advise Smiht County as to how to how the prolbem sooner than later. This has been going on for three years and our property value is going down everyday. The onwer of the property huales in trash fom other sites and just dump it out on the lots. Surely there is a government agency that step in to get this prolbem clearned up sooner than three years. My name is Janell Marie Lee I am not the only proeprty owner that is concern of the lack of interest by Lakeway Home Owner Association and Smith County. We have good firend and do not want to see any one move. Your help is greatly appreicate.

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Janell Marie Lee and seeking a government agency that would be willing to help take action or leads the property owners of Lakeway Harbor Addition to the right agency on cleaning up Lakeway Harbor Homeowner Association addition located in Smith County (TX). The owners at Lakeway Homeowner needs help in finding an agency that will encourage Smith County and Lakeway Homeowner Association to enforcing their laws is keeping lake property in good condition, so one may enjoy the beauty of Lake Palestine. Lakeway Harbor Home Owners Association refuse to take action against some of its homeowners as they feel it is up to Smith County to enforce property laws. We have a few property owners whom seem to think since they live on the lake that it is not necessary to maintain their property as the other homeowners. The homeowner association believes Smith County (TX) should do their dirty work for them. I my opinion everyone should work together to keep his or her property clean and Lakeway Harbor Homeowner Association should enforce and take action to encourage undesirable property owners to keep their addition up to the proper standard as other communities in the area. The undesirable property should be kept clean and up to standard according Smith County codes or any other county or city ordinance, which is not the case in Lakeway Harbor addition. The Homeowners over look the trashy property and promises to take action against the owners; however, after three years there has been no improvements with unfilled promises from the Homeowner Association saying “It is Smith County problem not our.” Cleanness starts at home in your on community by enforcing all homeowner rules regardless of the type of person living on the property. According to Detective Burton of Smith County said Lakeway Homeowner, do not wish to spend their money to hire lawyers to enforce their homeowner rules. As citizens of Smith County, TX what can we do to enforce good clean healthy environment so our children and grandchildren are not endanger by living next or near trash, garages, snakes, un kept dogs with fleas, only to mention a few healthy problems that exist in our community.

We have some wonderful neighbors and would love to keep them because they care; they like their lake property, and want to build. We need good neighbors and more people like them and keep the undesirable people out of the community or force them to maintain their property according to the homeowner rules. Infect all the people in Lakeway Harbor that owns lake front property keep their place beautiful and proud of where they live. The other people that do not have lake front property do not care.

My next question is can you also advise if there is a National Homeowner Association one may seek to help lead and guide Lakeway Harbor Homeowner Association in the right direction? Surely there is some government agency can help of lead us in the right direction.

Thank you in advance for understanding and concern.

Sincerely,

Marie
