I live in arizona; i got married 5 1/2 years ago. If my spouse pass away can the home we share be taken away from me if my name is not on the deed. My mother-in-law is concern that his children will throw me out.

Did your wife make a last will and testament? If she did then her estate will be distributed according to her wishes as stated on her last will. If her name is on the house then he interest in the house can be given away or sold. In such a case the house would be sold and the money would be split according to the ownership interest.
