18hp evenrude boat motor

I am having problems with my ignition i rewired my boat and put a new ignition switch on. I can start the boat but can't shut it off with the key. I'm not sure if i am missing a wire or what. There is 2 wires coming out of the motor and go right to the ignition switch. I'm not sure where to put them, i have tried every way i thought i could.

May be a grounding problem. try taking the negetive on the switch and ground it to the boat. Or the switch is faulty. Ignition switch turns it on. But if your motor does have electornic spark it wont turn it off. There has to be a way to wire someting to cut off fuel or oxygen.Because once its ignited its doesn not turn off
