Boat motor size and year

I just bought a johnson outboard motor and was told it is a 15 hp,he wasnt sure on the year of the motor either.Is there a place on the motor i can find both and if so how do i tell ?

The location of model and serial # don't know checked the online manuals with no luck below is contact info. for evinrude / Johnson parts manuals available on line under parts then select Johnson
