How can I learn how to knit?

I've always wanted to learn how to knit, but I have a hard time figuring it out from workbooks?

Go to the nearest nursing home.. just kidding, but not totaly ;) Try asking at your local art center, or rec center for classes or people who are willing to teach. The ladies groups in churches are a good resource as well.

Go to meetup.com to find knitting groups, I think there is one called Tassels and Testicles

Knitting is hard! I started out learning how to crochet. It's only one needle and it will allow you to start building those mad knitting skills. I swear it's a dying art - my grandma made sure she taught all of us (brother included) how to cross-stitch, sew, crochet, knit and decorate cakes!
