Where to donate recent magazines already read?

I have several excellent condition news magazines to share with someone else who might not be able to buy them.

I think the best place to donate mot only used magazines but also unwanted or duplicate VHS and DVD movies is your nearest senior citizen nursing home. Residents at those places have always seemed to appreciate any reading or viewing media we can donate to them.

We have been taking our old magazines to a local Vetran's hospital, a local women's shelter and an after school program for teen girls. They use them a lot in projects and presentations and the girls can take them home if they want. Depending on the subject matter you can decide where would be the best place for them to go. If you get food and wine then maybe donating them to a rec center that teaches cooking classes. Be creative. Magazines subscriptions are expensive and useful and a lot of people will happily take them in as donations and give them a loving home. If you donate them to a charitable organization, you could also write off a portion the cost on your taxes.

Good luck!

I never really thought about it, but those are all great ways to recycle old magazines.

I just recycled with my paper products all my ESPN and Rolling Stone magazines.

I got ideas I would not have thought of. Because subscriptions are so expensive,it' a shame to just put them in the recycle bin. There was a time when I could not afford to pay for a magazine much less a subscription. I would have liked to receive donations. Thanks for answering.
