Since your doctor did not give you satisfaction, please get a second opinion. Did you see a dermatologist or just your general practitioner? If you haven't already consulted a dermatologist, please do so! It sounds like you are really suffering and I would like an update since it's been almost a month. I hope you are doing better now, but if not, again, let me emphasize you need to see a specialist.

Get a sound opinion. See another doctor. The only thing you can do until then is to try to determine what is causing the red itching bumps and your probably not going to figure that out on your own.

#1. Hydrocortizone cream, you can get it at the dollar store.. its great for all itchy red bumps.
#2. Try some benedryl, combined with the hydrocortizone cream, which will supress the need to itch while the hydrocortizone helps heal the itch.
#3. Don't itch.....it will make it much worse and keep spreading.
#4. A burning hot epsom salt bath might help you feel a bit of relief, but as soon as you get out start at step #1 again!

If old bumps are healing while new ones are appearing you may be constantly re-exposing yourself to something in your environment, such as bedbugs. (Yes they do exist and they have recently made a comeback!). Have you been to a motel or gotten any secondhand bedding lately?
