He could either be married, or he hasn't filled out another W4 form, or he's filled out the W4 and it hasn't been processed. Some people put it off because of the tax savings, but you might want to remind him to change it before April's tax day comes around.

Yes it could be if the paperwork hasn't been updated but one sure way to find out is to search the public records for the divorce decree.

He can write anything he wants on the w4 he can claim as many people he ;or she wants but when it come time to fill the income tax out at the end of the years he or she has to write the name and their ss# but that means they did not take enough taxes on him so he will be paiding the irs back. i was marry 7 years and the hold time i did marry no dependents the last years i owned the irs over 900.00 dollars even though i was marry that whole last years
