From personal experiance I had to be 12 before a judge would even consider to hear what I had to say, In his words a child will choose the parent whom he/she feels is eaiser on them and not what is best physicaly or emotionaly, there for they really dont consider a childs oppion until the age of 16. unless there is proof that there is physical or emotional danger to the child, at this point the child may have to testifiy aginist the other parent which I find really sad to do to a child, I would look into your state laws, but the judge is very good at deciding on which parent should have physcial custody of a child and they listen to both sides. good luck!

12 is as well what I've heard. You should check the family laws for your state.

A minor can only give their opinion about where they want to stay but it is not up to them to choose where until their an adult.
