What are my chances of receiving alimony.

My husband says he doesn't love me anymore and has requested a divorce. My husband is 43
I'm 51, married for 10 years. Physical, verbal and mental abuse from my husband. (police have been to the house, many people have seen the bruises). No children. I take care of the home and work. $12 hour.
I am on FMLA as I have a brain lesion and in the future may need surgery.
I want to keep my home; however will not be able to make the payment without alimony.
His gross for two weeks is 2682.00.
What are my chances of receiving alimony?

Thank you

There is a GREAT chance that you will get alimony from your husband because you are having sever complications at this time in your life (may need surgery)and being on FLMA.. Also, since he makes that much income that also makes your chances better at receiving alimony. When you get a divorce, they will ask for such reasons and with him leaving bruises on your body that others have seen, take them as witnesses. Also, take all police reports that you have have. The more proof that you have of physical, mental and verbal abuse the better your chances will be. I wish you all the best luck.

I am currently in the middle of a divorce in AZ. I am entitled to spousal maintenance (alimony) because it is a long term marriage (over 10 yrs.) You ARE entitled to the same and I suggest you consult a lawyer to help you get exactly what you are entitled to. There are lots of lawyers that will do a free consult. Best of Luck!
