If he has admitted being the child father and is taking responsibility for him then he should have the same rights as you do unless he has issues that would put your son in some horrible situation. When you went for your hearing, had a DNA test been performed? I would assume that with him proving that he is the childs father that he will be able to request to have a corrected birth certificate issued. If this man is a good man, then you are blessed that he wants to participate in your son's life. Being a single parent is very difficult.
