Husband does not want to add me to his new business account

We've been married for 3 years. I have paid for our mortgage, cars, insurance, food for the past 3 years. He finally found a career with selling insurance. His first commissions tells me he's openining a business account with out me in it. I said no. Now I have split all of the bills in half to the penny asking him for half of the monthly payments. He said he doesn't want to add me ever on any of his accounts because it is his business. I feel he is going to save all of his money and not tell me about it. I sell homes, my commissions are pretty big and I have never told him that our money will ever be seperate. What should I do? did I do wrong by making him pay half?

This marriage will go down the tubes eventually because your husband does not trust you. There is nothing requiring him to make you a joint account holder for any of his accounts. That is strictly his personal choice. Instead of obsessing about his new account, you should be trying to figure out why he doesn't trust you. You should also start saving some of your money in an account he doesn't know about so you can pay a good attorney to take care of your divorce.

This is a 2-way problem. He is an adult and he has absolutely every right to have his own checking account. The issue here is trust. Why do you think he will hoard all of this money and not tell you about it. Couples should be able to talk freely about how much they make and be happy when the other person is doing well. It's that whole love and respect thing. It has to be mutual.

Maybe there is some legal reason why he wants to have only his name on it. i think he has good intentions on it.

i think you two should talk and come to a happy medium on it.
