I have a crush on one of my close friends

There is this girl that I like, she happens to be one of my closer friends. However she happens to also be the ex of one of my closest friends who's like a brother to me. She's told me that she trusts me more than any of the other guys in our group because I'm the only one who hasn't tried to get into her pants. But her ex, my best friend, still has some feelings for her last time I heard. IA don't really know what to do about this. I mean i love her personality, her attitude towards people, and she's good looking too. But I'm not sure of how she really thinks about me, and I really DON'T want to upset my best friend, or ruin my friendship with this girl. What the hell do I do?

Wait, didn't you say that she told you that she trusts you more than any of the other guys in your group because you're the only one who hasn't tried to get into her pants? I know that you may not be trying to 'get in her pants' so to speak, but maybe she trusts you as a friend and maybe you should just leave it at that! Keep her as your friend, be her friend. Sometimes opposite se% (can't say the s word here... lol) are the best friends that we ever find in life. DONT ruin it by trying to get more out of it. Just be friends for now.
I ruined a really good friendship that I had with one of my male friends when I was younger because we were so close as friends that we tried dating. All it did was spoil our friendship AND our circle of friends. Take my word for it, dont do it.
Sounds like too many other people are involved that will get hurt, I would say you should just remain the girls friend.
Good luck to you.

What is more important, your friendship with the guy friend, or the possibility of dating this girl?

If you went after this girl, you might lose your best friend in the process. personally, there are so many girls out there, go find another one. or wait a while, maybe a long while, until your friend doesn't have feelings for her and try then, if that chance arises.

that is what I would do.

It sounds like she respects you. Your best friend still has feelings for her. She may also have feelings for him in any event I would just be her friend. If she cares for you in any way other than a friend then you both will find your way. From what your saying about how you feel about her can also be taken as she is a good friend toward you. Your best friends feelings are imporant even if she does not have any feelings for him. Think about this and I believe that you can have them both as close friends and leave it at that. True friends are hard to come by and the best way to break up a friendship is over a girl.
