Although medication stops certain strains of gonorrhea, it will not repair any permanent damage done by the disease. People who have had gonorrhea and have been treated can get the disease again if they have sexual contact with persons infected with gonorrhea.

Symptoms cannot be transmitted, but the disease can if one of the partners is infected. Keep in mind that there are certain strains of gonorrhea that are drug-resistant (the treatment used, that is).

You can read more about the disease from the following website.

Your partner is smart. Ask your doctor or go to the local health department. Have you thought about protective sex? If you do not want protective sex, then may be it is time to put the equipment away.
