Should we RFID chip our children?

I was reading an article about RFID chips that they can place in children, should they be abducted so you can locate them. Kinda like LoJack for kids. I usually have an opinion about everything, but now that I am a mom, I am really torn on this issue and wanted to see what you think?

That's a hard one. I honestly believe that implanting a tracking device can NEVER be good, but I understand what you are saying about if your child got kidnapped you would feel horrible and like it was your fault if anything bad where to happen or if they couldn't find your child. I think the best thing you can do is teach your kids to be safe. Not to talk to strangers, etc.

I just feel that the chips will do more harm than good.

RFID chips are bad in children. Good on consumer products

what about all your free rights, doing what you want to do, being who you want to be and not being tracked.

i don't think it would stand up in court or congress or anything.

Ask yourself this question... "How would I feel if my parents gave me a chip to keep track of my every move?" If they put one in her, you're obstructing her constitutional freedoms as an American.

Who needs a chip. They can track cell phones, gps's, and other things by way of satelite. Maybe someone should invent a tracking necklace or wristwatch so you'll know where your child is all the time. But implants.....That's a little too much.

No. There is not enough scientific evidence about the safety of placing a radio transmitter, even a passive on such as an RFID under the skin. Plus, it just seems wrong on many levels.

I would say NO! I have 3 kids myself and i couldn't implant anything into my child. It would be horrifying if one of my children got abducted but i just couldn't bring myself to plant a chip into my children. You have to think of health risks...including radio activity, scarring, and risk of infection. Let alone the chance for some reason the government going crazy and could find you and your child in a drop of a dime if they wanted to! Hope my opinion helped :)
