It means losing your virginity, mostly referring to females.

People use the expression 'popping your cherry' to mean doing anything for the first time. It did start out referencing a female losing her virginity, but now it is much more widely used.

Popping you cherry is in reference to almost everytime a girl first has sex she bleeds. this is cause by breaking the hyman. its a layer of tissue.. it dosent always happen though cause it could break while masturbating or by using tampons

This term refers to the breaking of a small layer of skin inside the vagina. This is called the Hymen. When the hymen is broken by sex, usually a small amount of blood will discharge. Hence the term.
