Nothing is going to happen on 2012 as the Bible says: "no one knows the time and day of the end, not even God's son Jesus." Only God knows when.

Yes, at noon. So don't plan for lunch that day.

2012 is the end of the Mayan Calendar, so according to some, yes this date signifies the end. It is more than possible though, (even if you take the Mayan word as gold) that they just got tired and that its conclusion is arbitrary.

I'm getting tired of everyone acting like they know for sure.

And I don't mean the 2012 believers-- I mean the disbelievers. Look, you don't have to believe in anything, but don't discount everything, either. It's easy to shrug it off as nonsense when you have only heard the tip of the iceberg.

The Mayans ended their calendar there, but each time there is an end, it was a new beginning. Some think the Earth will, in a manner of speaking, start over.

The Mayans weren't the only ones. 2012 prophecies were made worldwide, throughout different ages, by cultures separately and unaware of one another. The Mayans just seem to be the most compelling to us during all this present hype. Maybe we feel they are more mystical or romantic.

Good luck.

Do I believe the world will end in 2012? No, but the Mayan long calendar will end then which has given rise to this rumor. What it fails to take into account is that the Mayan calendar is cyclical and repeats itself when it comes to the end of a cycle. However if you look at the end of the world from a metaphysical perspective, the world ends and recreates itself every instant in time. The date December 21, 2012 will be no exception. However, both the Mayans and the Hopi Indians have zeroed in on 2012 as a date brings all possible scenarios into vivid focus. Therefore it is possible that lunatic fringe elements may choose 2012 like the chose 9/11 to create a cataclysmic event in our world. Will the world end? No. Will the world as we know it right this instant end? Yes, in fact the world as we know it right this instant will change every instant.
