Gallons of water in a pipe

If i had a pipe that was 6" in dia and 125feet long how much water would it take to fill it

I have a drilled well the pipe is 6 inches in dia. the water is 125 feet deep in the well . How many gallons of water is in the well. Per foot would be great

To come up with my answer, I determined the volume of the pipe in inches cubed, multiplied times the diameter. 125ft. (1500in.) x 28.27 (A = pi x r * r)Area of the assumed base of the pipe) = 42,405in cubed. Then, using a conversion calculator you would find that the volume in gallons would be 183.571 Gal. (US Liq). If we then divide this figure by 125, we would get the number of gallons per foot, which is 1.469. Sound right? : D

That question can not be answered correctly becaause you did not provide the "thickness" of the pipe. Any answer based on the diameter of the pipe will be incorrect because pipe has thickness. The previous answer can be simplified. It takes enough to go from one end to the other.
