Should a refrigerator be packed with bottle, can, etc. of drinks for the long term. Does this cut back on energy efficiency?

Well, in theory you'd expend a lot more energy to cool it down but once cooled down, it would take a lot longer to heat up.

A full frig uses less energy if freezer is empty fill with ice block better than crushed freez water jugs be sure to leave space at top for expansion plus when you go fisning or camping they work great in coolers===a full frig does not have to work as hard or as often when full the already cold mass helps in maintaining temp
