What and where is your favorite museum?

Are the type that likes Art Museum's or Science Museum's or wax museums? or something different all together like that place in Kansas with the biggest ball of string museum (if such a place really exists).

I love the big, massive art museums. The only really unbelievable museum I've ever seen was the Getty! It was breath-taking. Denver has a new Contemporary Art Museum that is really cool.

Although if I have to be honest, the most FUN museums are wax museums like Madame Toussaud's in vegas. It's unbelievable and you walk out with pictures of you with Lenny Kravits and President Clinton. I still have those on my fridge :)

I don't remember the name of the Museum that I visited as a young child. I beleive it was in Washington D.C. I will never forget the image and horror of seeing a real shrunken head! Another museum on the East coast contained the huge dinasour bones. Seeing these things seemed so unimaginable, although they were real.

The Getty Museum in Malibu which features classic Roman and Greek artifacts is absolutely stunning. It sits on a hill overlooking the ocean, you can't see the PCH, and you feel like you've been transported to an island in the Aegean Sea. Another great Art Musuem is the National Gallery in Budapest.

My favority has to be the Natural History Musuem in Berlin. Great artifcats from all over.

One of the more gruesome is the Museum of Torture in Prague (on Castle Hill). Lots of medieval torture devices - some that really do make your skin crawl.

And if you are a military buff, check out the Duxford Air Museum (part of the Imperial War Musem) in England. They have a V2 Rocket as well as restored working aircraft from WW2 and a beautiful grass field where you can imagine wave after wave takiing off to go across the channel.

Salivador Dali Musuem in St. Pete Florida.

If you ever go on vacation to Tampa, St. Pete, or heck even Orlando (about a two hour drive) it's worth checking out. http://www.salvadordalimuseum.org
