What type of frogs are these.

After cleaning up my pool deck I found a few frogs that are almost red in color hanging out in some unused flower pots that had rain water in them. I live in florida and have a lake behind my house, anyone know what kind of frogs these are?

Did you happen to get a picture of them?

Nope didn't get a pic of them, they are very jumpy and were living in flower pots that had collected a little but of rain water in them. So when I moved them the frogs came jumping out, pretty neat little frogs all ffrom about 3 4ths an inch up to an inch or an inch and a half.

I think it's either a little grass frog or a carpenter frog. Check out the following website for pictures and descriptions of FLA frogs. The carpenter frog isn't really a native there, but may be found there. See if either one of these looks like the little critters that you saw and let us know!

Great! You know you can also compare the sound of the frog's call to be double certain. There's an audio recording on the link that you can click on. Glad I could help :)

Call: The call resembles someone hammering on a plank of wood -- a series of six (or so) two-syllabled, clacking calls that diminish in volume towards the end.
