Good kids books?

I am making a library of kids books for my 3 year old nephew for Christmas and I wanted some ideas on good books. He can read 1st grade books already, so anything from 1-5 grade so he doesn't grow out of them too fast.

The ones I have are:

The giving tree
Where the wild things are

'Falling Up' by Shel Silverstein is a wonderful book of poems for kids.

As mentioned the good doctor has many wonderful books. Oh the places you'll go is a great one.

I was a huge Steven Kellogg fan growing up too! http://www.stevenkellogg.com/
His book the Mysterious tadpole was always my favorite. Maybe a little higher than a first grade reading level but books he can grow into and never grow out of. Really awesome illustrations as well.

Also check out Bill Peet's books http://www.tlsbooks.com/billpeetbooks.htm
He started out working for walt disney but later on in life created a lot of wonderful children's books.

My third grader loves the spiderwick books. My 4 year olds favorites are the 5 chiness brothers, The stinky cheese man and other fairly stupid tales, and I love you stinky face.

Oh Skoolie! Those Bill Peets books are wonderful! My daughter absolutely loved them when she was little.

We also really enjoyed David Kirk's Miss Spider books. Adorable, colorful and entertaining.

Bunny Rabbit on the Moon is a fun one. It's about a bunny rabbit named Little Mookey who learns to paint, play music and sculpt. Every kid I have read it to loves the name "Little Mookey" and loves to go outside and see the bunny rabbit on a full moon after they read the story. Here is a link to a review- http://www.thereadingtub.com/displayBook.asp?id=1413.

You can actually read it for free at www.bunnyrabbitonthemoon.com
