Many stores will honor the sticker price (and then pull the rest of the merchandise to fix the stickers) but that is a matter of customer service or store policy, and not the law. I do not know of any laws that require vendors to honor the sticker price on their products.
When a store has these sorts of problems, the situation is normally resolved when the slighted customer decides never to shop there again. That's what you should do. If you feel you were improperly treated, do your shopping elsewhere.
Just so you know; the reason stores are more apt to accept the price in their automated system instead of the price sticker on the product is because of the high incidence of customers switching price tags on merchandise.
The next time this happens to you; ask to see the store manager and when he or she talks to you, request they check to make sure the correct price of the item was entered into the store's automated system. Sometimes mistakes are made.
