Hi Jody, Well its a long story but i was living with my fiance and his 3yr old son ,who now is 10yrs.old for 7years. My ex was hurt on the job as a truck driver and our only income was selling hand picked trash and then selling it at a local flea market. This went on for the last 4yrs. now that he has recieved his settlement of $100.000 dollars, he has decided to move out of our appartment and buy a home in Pottsville Pa. and has left me here in Pa. alone without a job or anywhere to go. i have been living in my sisters basement for the past 6months trying to get back on my feet, its been extreemly hard to live life this way and i just dont know what i should do. Thank you Jodi for responding, hope to hear back from you soon. Sincerley Joanne P.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time and that what you may have thought would be a long term relationship appears to have ended. Separations are often difficult for the children involved too.

I'm not sure where you are currently residing but you may want to look into any of your State's laws regarding common law marriage. You may be entitled to a certain amount of support or severance from your ex-fiance depending on the laws there.

Otherwise, look at living in your sister's basement as an opportunity to be sheltered and supported while you get on your feet. Seek new employment for yourself to start your new life. I'm not sure why you weren't employed before but now is the time for you to challenge yourself and surprise yourself with new successes!

Best of Luck to you
