Internet sales tax depends on where you live (I'm assuming in the U.S.):

If the company you're buying from has any employees working in the state you live -- you'll have to pay sales tax.

Of course there are variations, but for small purchases this is the case for now.

Depending on the store you buy it from, you only pay sales tax if the online store you buy it from, is physically located in the same state as you. Otherwise there is no sales tax on the item you buy.

That seems so weird, why would they tax you if there is a store in your area, but not if you are buying from somewhere else?

It is weird, but thats how it works. No physical store in your state, no sales tax. Gov't has been trying to figure out how to tax these transactions that miss out, but so far haven't done it. Will have to change at some point.

Depends on if it was in the same state that you live in.

if you live in Kansas and you buy something from Idaho, you shouldn't get charged sales tax, unless that company has a physical brick and mortal location in Kansas as well.
