She has 3 kids 8 years old and younger, no spare time, a selfish husband who works too much and a sick father she takes care of. A day at a spa is my fall back but I'm open to other ideas. Since Ruchele is the vacuuming expert perhaps she could recommend a good model?

Well luck girl :)

You know diamonds are a girls best friend. I LOVE those journey pendants ; )

My favorite hubby gifts so far (he's great):

Spa packages (massage, pedi, mani) - MtnRescue had an awesome idea of getting a gift certificate for a massage once a month so she can enjoy it all year

Anything I love but can't justify buying myself

Large canvas print or oil painting of family photo or wedding photo - they turn out AMAZING:

Personalized photo albumns (who scrapbooks anymore?!)

A weekend off - get a sitter, a hotel (maybe even at a spa) or a B&B and take her for a day of beauty (hair, nails, makeup) and then a clothes and jewelry shopping spree. Just for her. Don't let her buy anything for you or the kids.

I'd pass on the full day at the spa. to impersonal, and it is a one time use gift.

I'd say...

A really nice necklace or ear rings, or a set, if she is into those.

If she bakes alot, a Kitchen Aid brand name mixer may be worth while.

What about applying that money to a weekend getaway without the kids. Either a get away up into the mountains if you are near the mountains. Or a beach get away if you are near a coast. Or either regardless, but that may be more then a few hundred if you had to fly or really drive a ways. Something that is no more then 3 hr one way drive would work great.

Just pretend you were her. What would really blow your mind if you got it....

Love the weekend spa idea!

In colorado you can take a train to Glennwood Spirngs (I assume that is still open) and they have hot spring caves and couple massages. Victoria secret has fabulous bling bling luggage tags (I recommend hot pink) - then you could wrap that and tell her to pack and surprise her - we always like things like that because it like life before kids and it shows you put some thought and arrangement into it.

You go ahead and get her a vacume, and I guess you can sleep on my couch during the divorce!! And I like Jodi's Idea, I would give my right arm for a trip the spa at Glennwood!!
