Why would you want to control anyone? I think that if you consider it carefully - look at your history - the only person that you have the most control over is yourself. You are responsible for how you react to a situation, you are responsible for controlling your own behavior. People who seek to control the thinking or behaviors of others are manipulators, and they usually wind up losing.

You start off by putting on your so- called "leather skin" which emotionally toughens you up-( take a deep breath as you do this, and imagine your outer core being covered for shielding) Then you enter the place where you are met by manipulation. You smile, act comfortable, and do a lot of listening. Only speak when you are spoken to, and do not be analytical. Go with the flow unless something is stated (something that MATTERS)that you feel strongly about, and it pertains to you on a personal level, or affects a loved one's character or well being, then you say " Excuse me for a minute--Can I say something....." and during that time you are saying all of that, you will have pre-thought of exactly how you want to come across at that moment and it will help you to respond in the appropriate manner. Stay reserved, and don't let them "in". Come away from the situation liking who you are, and feeling good. No one can manipulate you if you don't let them. ;)
