It is in our nature. People are rude because that is just who they are or they are mentally trying to protect themselves or someone.

I think they weren't raised properly. I think people can (and should) be taught to behave with grace, courtesy and tolerance for other people.
People are rude 99 % of the time because of defense mechanisms. People do not want to feel inferior so they project at the person whom they are assaulting. Projection. It is a time tested fact. Although I think I was a little off the mark. Most people are Rude because they are more consumed with there own life. When we are all consumed with our own thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and wants. There is not a lot of time for people. So we confront and chase away. This is a complex question, I think I have covered it decently. I could write a book on the subject.

Well rudeness can come from bad parenting as well. This is a different rudeness than I was referring to. Although it applies in most cases. However when you dissect the family unit, and take out the male, or female. The other is obviously more preoccupied with there own, happiness so they ignore teaching there child good values. Every one is running around attempting to satisfy themselves. This is why the divorce rate is so high here. It is a little deeper, however that is pretty shot on. The divorce does not even effect places like where I live, and no one even gets married, however kids everywhere, and no fathers. The women are merely chasing men, kids running around in the street. This is happening across every city, state, in America. This number of bad parenting is covered up in the divorce rate. America is much worse than most could imagine, with the family unit. It could undermine America all together one day.

These days, parents don't teach their children manners,I think it started in the sixties when parents decided that children should be allowed to do what they please. Now we live with the results.

Thanks glad I could help shed some light on why people are so rude nowadays. I will say rudeness begets rudeness. Thanks again for the award, great philosophical question.
